Exorcism marks a moment of rupture and reinvention for Slow Chase - a bigger, darker, more fully-formed version of the band first introduced on The Blind Spot EP. The two-piece had become a three-piece. The riffs were heavier. The tone was clearer: burn it down and start again.

Recorded at Mixmasters in Adelaide with American producer Jonathan Burnside (Nirvana, Faith No More, Grinspoon), and mixed under near-breaking-point conditions across time zones, Exorcism came out swinging - a snarling track built on smoky guitars, pounding rhythm, and a frontman digging through fear, religion, and depression in search of emotional congruency.

Rolling Stone Australia gave it 4 out of 5 stars, calling it “the new balls-out single from swaggering, full-throttle rockers Slow Chase.” It’s not a party song, but it hits like one. No redemption arc. Just the sound of a band blowing off the weight of the year that nearly broke them. A new master by John Davis - known for his work remastering the Led Zeppelin discography - was released in 2019, giving the track renewed clarity and impact.
